The St Ives CC juniors ended the cyclocross season in style yesterday sweeping 4 podiums for the overall Muddy Monsters series. They also claimed 3 podium finishes in the seventh and last race of the series at the Gosling Sports Stadium in Welwyn Garden City which was hosted by the Welwyn Wheelers.
Ralph Falkner, age 11, came 1st in the series in the U12 boys category and brother Max Falkner, age 13, came 3rd in the U14 boys category. Ralph Bicknell, age 7, came second in the series in U8 boys category and Cora Wood, age 7, came 3rd in U8 girls category.
In the race yesterday the St Ives CC team had a hat trick of podiums with Ralf, Max and Ralph all claiming 2nd place.
The club had more racing success yesterday at the first of the Corley Cycles Youth Races at the Milton Keynes Bowl. Liam Conway, age 10, worked well with the leading pack but just missed out on a podium spot by coming 4th in the U10 boys race. Team-mates Angus Lawrence and Nathan Gibson also raced at Milton Keynes.
