The Tour de Yorkshire ride was completed on 1st May – a tough course but not as many climbs as last year, and the weather was much better, as last year it was tipping down with rain for the first 3/4 of the ride. A very early start was a shock to the system but soon got going with the timed KOM climb of Cote de Harwood Dale, which is a tough one for sure. The second part of the course was flatter and windy, with a late sting in the tale of a cobbled climb in Filey, followed by the last climb in Scarborough followed by a sprint along the seafront just like the pros. All in all a great ride, the only downside was that my Garmin crashed partway through so I lost the early part of the ride!
