Great evening – “a perfect night for it!!”.
As I pulled into the car park – “Christ we are going to be busy tonight!”. Everywhere I looked there was cyclists – “bloody cheek really, I struggled for somewhere to park!!”
Having 30 riders in all, we had quite a lot of youngsters; three of which were newbies. At the fast end of our juveniles. PB’s were being broken by most of the young riders; When they passed me on the loop of the last two roundabouts, Sean, Nathan and Angus were all motoring along well.
We had a large section of female riders out; we saw an epic battle between our European Veteran Triathlon Sarah Kelman entrant and our World’s Duathlon Jesse Williams competitor. One second separated the pair with the Veteran winning the day. We then had the Himes women, taking the plunge – with young Cecilia and mum Donna, doing battle, youth won the day as Cecilia continues to build on from her Cyclo-cross success.
Other family duels included the first of the season between brothers Dan and Dave Rigby. Honours on the night went to Dan, with Dad Tony out on the course spectating. However now Dave has purchased a beaut of a TT machine and has committed himself to a lot of TT events this season this rivalry on the road is going to get very hot!
Top honours went to a Guest Rider Alistair Luxford who looked exceptionally strong and composed on the course. For the second week running Mr Hoy had to settle for runners-up spot.

We had a good turnout of marshals and I like to thank them all for a great job!
Due to having so many youngsters on the course we decided to add additional marshals on the course to have maximum observation on the course. Plus, Netty still needs as much help as possible with time keeping!

Important Notice regarding the next four weeks of Wednesday Evening Time Trials
Rider Limit
As we are still struggling to get finished before sunset at the moment; there will be a 30 rider limit in place for the next four weeks. Places will be given on a first come, first sign on basis on evenings with excessive numbers.
Signing-in
1) If people request “Early Starts” please can you give an estimated time as it helps Berenice to know what order to send off in
2) With so many people wanting early starts Berenice cannot accommodate all and priority will be made for the Juvenile Riders – numbers 1 – 10 will be reserved for the younger riders.
Road safety and good conduct
1) Please do not “U” turn in the vicinity of the Start and Finish (i) Firstly it is breach of CTT rules (Riders will be told – if you are a persistent offender you will be Disqualified). 3 Riders committed this offence this week!! (ii) With riders riding up to the start line at speed (several this week!), there is a high risk of collision.
2) Will riders please not congregate at the Industrial Estate at the end of the ride – you were creating a hazard to traffic coming-in and out of the junction. Once you have finished your ride and cool down ride, will you please go back to the HQ, if you are going to hang around.
