The final Wednesday night TT of 2018 had 23 riders. It probably wasn’t a fast evening, but some still set personal bests. With Tim having a mechanical issue before the start, Adrian had little serious competition on the night but still finished in 22.22. Fastest junior and second was Max Falkner in 24.26. Third was Leo Falkner in 25.02. Jess Williams was fastest women in 25.29 and Cece fastest junior women in 28.22..
Well done to twelve year old Dom who armed with new equipment took over 1.30 off his previous best but more importantly beat his sister for the first time this year! Cameron has been one of the biggest improvers this year and took another 45 seconds off the previous best, beating most of the adults. Also well done to Andrew for taking part in his first TT of the year. Thanks especially to Donna Hime and the Falkner family who baked cakes for afterwards.
There is a high chance I will not be able to organise these next year, so the club is looking for someone to oversee coordinating these in 2019. If interested please contact either myself or a member of the committee. Next week is the climbs hill climb, details will be sent in the coming days and the points totals for the TTs will be worked out and sent in the coming weeks. Wendy Gooding (who represents St Ives CC on the Sawtry Pavilion committee) is helping to organise a charity cycle event in Oundle this Sunday in aid of The Sepsis UK Trust. Details are attached so please consider taking part in this event.
Lastly we couldn’t run these events without the help of Chris Penney, who assists at registration and compiles the points. Due to illness he has been absent the last few weeks and we wish him a speedy recovery!
