Last weekend, the club’s girls claimed 4 podium finishes at 2 regional league races.
At the 13th round of the Central Region Cyclocross League at Berkhampstead, the riders had to battle with the freezing conditions, rain, mud, the remnants of the snow, a sand pit and a steep man-made bridge. Cecilia Hime rose to the challenge winning the Junior Female category. Beatrice Pauley came 2nd in the U14 girl’s race whilst brother Dominic Pauley missed out on a podium coming 4th in the U12 boys category.
It was bitterly cold at the 13th round of the Eastern Region Cyclocross league race at Kentford in Suffolk. The freezing conditions didn’t stop Orla Kenna coming 2nd in the U12 girls race and Sapphire Curtis coming 2nd in the U14 girls race. Ruby O’Dell came 4th in the U10 girls race, Ralf Falkner came 7th in the U14 boy’s race, Andy Fountain was 8th in the Veteran 50+ race, Nathan Gibson was 8th in the Junior Male race, Angus Lawrence was 12th in the U16 youth race and Max Falkner was 14th in the same category.
