Round 9 of the Eastern Region cyclocross league at Hempton in Norfolk brought sleet and the bitter cold. The St Ives cc riders braved the freezing cold conditions to claim 3 podiums.
Andy Fountain came 2nd in the +50-49 Veteran male category, Orla Kenna came 2nd in the U12 girls race whilst team mate Ruby O’Dell came 3rd in the U10 girls race. Nathan Gibson was 5th in the Junior Male race, Nick Smith was 22nd and Mike Hoy was 40th in the Veteran 40-49 category.
St Ives CC also had 7 younger riders that raced in 2 different series of the Muddy Monsters cyclocross League.
At the first round of North Cambs league in Kings Lynn, Emmie Cox came 2nd in the U8 girls race, Ralph Bricknell was 2nd in the U10 boys race, Katie Cox was 3rd in the U10 girls race, Cora Wood came 2nd in the U10 girls race and Jacob Wood came 3rd in the U12 boys race. Charlie Trimble also raced in the U8 boys category at Kings Lynn.
Logan Lyons raced in the 2nd round of the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire Muddy Monsters league in Ashwell but the results for that race haven’t been published yet.
