The St ives CC team enjoyed racing in the sun at the Regional MTB Championships at Carver Barracks in Essex today. This technical course challenged the riders even in the dry conditions.
Sam Trotter, age 15, came 2nd in the Youth Male category despite crashing and having to finish the race with twisted handlebars.
Four unlucky St Ives CC riders narrowly missed out on podiums today. Ruby O’Dell , age 7, came 4th in the U10’s Girls race, Beatrice Pauley, age 13, came 4th in the Juvenile Female race and Nathan Gibson, age 16, came 4th in the Youth Male race. Orla Keena, age 9, came 5th in the U12 Girls race and Ian Megginson came 22nd in the Open Male race.
