The Go Ride team had a great time racing in the sunshine at round 10 of the Central Region Cyclocross league at Welwyn on Saturday.
The club fielded a team of 6 juniors. Cecilia Hime, age 15, continued her winning streak coming first in the Women’s youth race and Beatrice Pauley, age 12, fought hard for 2nd place in the U14 girls race. Liam Conway, age 9, narrowly missed out on a podium coming 4th in the U10 boys race. Dominic Pauley, age 10, came 12th in the U12 race.
Ralf Falkner, age 11, came 7th in the U12 boys race and brother Max Falkner, age 12, came 11th in the U14 boys race. The Faulkner’s made it a family affair with Dad Max Falkner racing in the Veteran Male age 40-49 category coming 56th out of 80 finishers.
On Sunday, three of the Go Ride Team competed at Round 4 of the National Trophy series at Ipswich. This was a dry, flat, fast course which shook up the usual placings across the categories. Beatrice Pauley came 12th in the U14 girls race and Cecilia Hime also came 12th in the Junior Women’s race. Angus Lawerence, age 13, came 22nd in the U14 boys race.
