The St Ives CC Go Ride team have achieved another podium take over this weekend. They braved the frost and mud at 2 different league events. The club achieved a magnificent 7 podium spots including three wins. 13 juniors raced, including 4 sets of siblings.
Diss CC hosted round 13 of the Eastern Cyclocross League in Redgrave Suffolk. Orla Kenna, age 9, came first girl in the U10’s race, finishing over a minute clear of the runner-up. Sapphire Curtis, age 12, came 2nd in the U14 girls race and Ruby O’Dell, age 9, finished 3rd in the U8’s girls race.
Not wanting to be outdone by the girls, the boys also had a cracking race. Ralf Falkner, age 11, came 3rd in the U12 race and Angus Lawerence, age 13, came 3rd in the U14 boys race. Brother Edward Lawerence, age 11, came 20th in the U12 boys race. Samuel Smith, age 8, came 15th in the U10’s boys race. Nick Hall, age 15, came 10th in the Junior men’s race and brother Ben Hall, age 13, came 13th in the U16 boys race. Max Falkner, age 12, came 18th in the U14 boys race.
Over at round 9 of the Central League race at Kettering the St Ives CC girls grabbed another two podium wins. Cecilia Himes, age 15, came first in the Junior Women’s race and Beatrice Pauley, age 12, came 1st in the U14 girls. Brother Dominic Pauley, age 10, came 7th the U12 boys race.
