Less favourable conditions than in previous weeks saw few riders come close to their bests although the predicted rain held off just until the last rider crossed the line. Congratulations to Ken Rolland who finished fastest in 23.53, closely followed by Karl Hiner of St Neots NICE TRI in 24.00. Phil Oxborough was third in 24.59. Well done to Jennie Tillott who was the fastest lady on the night. That’s the second fastest time by a women on the course this year in far from ideal conditions with little or no warm up too. Also well done to new member Jules on riding his first club TT.
There are two more evening time trials left this year, so there is still time to come and try it, beat your PB or even try and de-throne Luke or Wendy as the quickest riders and collect one of the much coveted club trophies at the end of the year. Registration is between 5.45 and 6.15, with the first rider off at 6.45pm.
Thanks especially to Keelan and Sean’s mum and Jennies boyfriend for agreeing to marshal at the last minute despite having never done this before! The riders really appreciate this and without their help this would possibly have been cancelled. Thanks also to Paul Joslin for helping Netty with the signs and marshalling, Owen Rogers for marshalling and Mick Butler, Colin Brooker & Luke Hattersley for starting and time keeping duties. Owen (who regularly has articles published in Cycling Weekly and Velo News) also took some pictures on the night which can be found here. Its a good way to see just how aerodynamic you are, or not in my case! https://www.dropbox.com/sh/905yu6p32mrleft/AAAkQyJ1rFvessYNRWAW_eDia?dl=0
