The small threat of rain didn’t materialise and the 21 riders were greeted with sunny albeit windy and colder conditions than in previous weeks. It couldn’t have been closer with just a single second separating first and second place on the night. Congratulations go to Mike Hoy who was fastest with a time of 24.15, closely followed by Jack Burgin in second with Paul Lilley of Fenland Clarion in third. Although Jack insisted the Garmin read 24.11 (the timekeepers decision is final!) his time is all the more impressive as rode on his winter training bike whilst the best one’s being repaired! A good night all round for the Hoy family with Holly being the quickest youngster on the night and riding an impressive sub 30 mins. Although not wanting to go off first, Zack rode brilliantly to keep most of the chasing riders at bay and in doing so took a massive 3m 03 off last weeks time. Nigel turned up with the fixed wheel bike, and posted a good time but thinks with some tweaking to the gears faster times are possible. Well done too to Jon, Slavik, Mike, Sam and Julia who who all improved for the second week in a row. Chris P and Wendy set off one minute apart determined to beat each other to the finishing line. Despite a gallant effort from Wendy the bragging rights go to Chris who just pipped her although they pushed each other to seasons best times.
Once again thanks to the following people without whose help these events couldn’t take place:
Timekeeper: Mick Butler
Starter: Colin Brooker
Marshals: Robert Tillot, Hugh Potter, Kevin Cummings, Sarah Hoy, Paul Gibson and Rob Harding
